An investigation into various visualization tools for complex biological networks

Network biology has become crucial to understanding the complex structural characteristics of biological systems. Consequently, advanced visualization approaches are needed support investigation such structures, and several network tools have subsequently been developed help researchers analyze intricate networks. While these a range analytical interactive features, it is sometimes unclear data analyst or designer which features most relevance biologists. Thus, this study investigates identifies essential factors for networks using mixed methodology approach. Based on findings, were categorized as either generic heuristic, where former concern different functionalities, an efficient layout, search capabilities, plugin availability, graph analysis user-friendliness, while latter usability, information coding, flexibility, orientation help. 1 Furthermore, findings indicate that 12 15 identified moderately important, all 10 heuristic herein important.
